I found your website very interesting. Thank you for sharing information. Perhaps it will be interesting for you to know that I was highest bidder for the Sapho debout sold on ebay on 7 Oct. 2009 for 1.363 euros. Approximately 12 years ago I owned another Pradier Sapho and as I sold it I wanted to find another one. A few times I missed the auctions but this time the Lord allowed me to be the lucky winner. I bought it as an untouched patinated bronze and when I received it I was surprised very much when under all the dirt and patina I found silver plating. I have been an antique dealer for 20 years and during this time I have become quite a good restorer. I worked on this statue almost one week and cleaned everything without any scratchers. Why am I writing to you about this? I thought it would perhaps be interesting for you to see these pictures of the bronze before and after the restoration.

Congratulations on this fine restoration and thanks for sharing your photos. Having tried my hand at restoring a couple of statuettes myself, I know what a difficult but satisfying job it can be.
